Alexander Kurenkov was born on June 2, 1972 in the Moscow region.

In 1998 he graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture. In 2004, he fihished his education in Moscow Psychological and Social Institute.

From 1995 to 1999 he worked as a teacher of physical culture at school No. 312 in Moscow.

In 1999, he began to work in the state security agencies.

From 1999 to 2002, Mr. Kurenkov worked in various positions in the Federal Security Services (FSB) of Russia.

From 2002 to 2021, he began the service in the Federal Protective Service (FSO) of Russia.

From 2021 to 2022, Alexander Kurenkov became an assistant, then deputy director of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation.

On May 25, 2022, by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, he was appointed Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters.

In 2015, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kurenkov was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, 2nd class.
