EMERCOM of Russia initiates the search for innovative solutions for the timely identification of probable places of occurrence of natural and man-made emergencies, as well as prompt response to them.
On April 17, on the Day of the Soviet Fire Service and as part of the Fire Safety Month, employees of the Information Policy Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry held a fire and rescue sports day. In the 32nd specialized unit of the Moscow garrison, the firefighters prepared a unique program for their colleagues.
The history of the Ural Institute of Fire Fighting Service began on April 17, 1929, when the Ural regional fire-technical courses were opened. Since then, the educational institution has been continuously growing, updating the material and technical base and several times changed its name, before in 2002 it received its current name - the Ural Institute of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia.
For several decades, April 17 was celebrated as the Day of the Soviet Fire Department. It was on this day in 1918 that the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars "On the organization of state measures to combat fire" was signed. Among other things, the document established the Fire Council and assigned the title of the position of the chairman of the council - the chief commissioner for insurance and fire fighting.
On April 16, a regular meeting of the BRICS Working Group on Disaster Risk Management was held at the BRICS Interstate Union chaired by the Republic of India. The Russian delegation at the meeting was represented by Oleg Manuylo, Director of the Civil Defence and Population Protection Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
During five days, twelve rescuers of the Far Eastern Regional Search and Rescue Unit of the Russian Emergencies Ministry took part in the training in Khabarovsk. The event was held with the support of the Secretariat of the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG, UN OCHA) and in accordance with the requirements of this international organization.
On April 16, during a working trip to the Republic of Dagestan, the Minister of EMERCOM of Russia Evgeniy Zinichev held a coordination meeting on the readiness of the territorial units of the Unified State System of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations for seasonal hazards. The event was attended by the plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District Yuri Chaika and the acting head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergey Melikov.
During the flights, actions over the water surface and the discharge of extinguishing liquid, as well as aviation rescue technologies are practiced. Rescuers conduct trainings to improve the skills of splashdown with a parachute into the water and actions during the forced landing of an aircraft on the water.
On April 15, Minister of Emergency Situations of Russia Evgeniy Zinichev summed up the results of the All-Russian Command and Staff Training to eliminate wildfires and ensure flood control measures. The large-scale event took place in all regions of Russia.
On March 15, in the format of a videoconference, the meeting of the Assistant Minister of EMERCOM of Russia Shamsutdin Dagirov with the regional branches of the All-Russian Organization of Veterans of Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Fire Fighting Bodies and veteran organizations of the EMERCOM of Russia on the topic of preparation for the 76th anniversary of the Great Victory was held.
