Increased monitoring of the radiation situation is continued, and a number of departments are involved. Ships of Sakhalin Office of Border Coast Guard, including those that are currently at sea are also involved in monitoring. The obtained data come to the NEMC in the Sakhalin region every two hours. There is no danger to population. Radiation hazard is not expected.
General Directorate of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Sakhalin region addresses to people of the Sakhalin region, and recommends not using any information on background radiation in the Sakhalin region from doubtful sources.
