In Nizhny Novgorod, acceptance testing of a floating fire and rescue vehicle on a caterpillar track (PTS-PS) are underway. It was created to work in conditions of destroyed infrastructure and in areas prone to flood events.
The vehicle is designed for the evacuation of people and material means, the delivery of rescue equipment and fire equipment, as well as rescuers to emergency areas associated with floods. In addition, it can be used to extinguish fires and to pump out large volumes of water from flooded areas and objects.
On board the tracked vehicle has everything you need to alert the population, transmit light and sound signals, voice commands and messages within a radius of 500 m. There is a set of medical equipment for providing first aid to victims.
Based on the results of the acceptance testing, a decision will be made on its further use in the EMERCOM of Russia system.
This development is the result of the work of Nizhny Novgorod engineers together with specialists from the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.
