Pyrotechnicians of the EMERCOM of Russia have cleared more than 95 hectares of territory in Nagorno-Karabakh

Specialists of the Russian Emergencies Ministry continue demining territories in Nagorno-Karabakh as part of a humanitarian mission.

In the Aghdam Region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, pyrotechnicians have already examined more than 6.7 hectares and neutralized about 240 explosive objects, including more than 170 anti-personnel and more than 20 tank mines.

A few days ago, an additional group of specialists from the Leader Center and the Noginsk Rescue Center arrived in the specified area in order to strengthen and increase efficiency. Now 26 people work on the site, who use modern robotic systems for mine clearance. They also conduct practical exercises with representatives of the Ministry of Emergencies of Azerbaijan.

In parallel, the pyrotechnics of the Russian Emergencies Ministry began to clear the territories in the Martuni district. Currently, they are working within the boundaries of the district center, where, in cooperation with local authorities and the population, they identify the presence of explosive objects. Already surveyed about 2.5 hectares and found 10 ammunition.

Earlier, the specialists of the combined group neutralized areas in the vicinity of the village of Aygestan in the Askeran region. The work was completed - 88.5 hectares were cleared and about 15 thousand ammunition was found. Among them there are about 730 mortar mines, about 900 fuses for artillery shells, over 1100 grenades, 11 anti-tank guided missiles "Malyutka" and "Fagot", as well as over 600 fragments of MLRS "Grad" and over 3.4 thousand rounds of various calibers. All found explosive objects were disposed of through the Humanitarian Demining Center.
