On February 19, a ski race was held in the Meshchersky Park of the Moscow Region, timed to coincide with the celebration of Defender of the Fatherland Day. The personnel of the structural divisions of the Central Office of the EMERCOM of Russia took an active part in the competition.
Colonel-General of Internal Service Ilya Denisov, Deputy Minister of EMERCOM of Russia welcomed the participants.
The main goal of the ski race is to promote a healthy lifestyle, as well as maintain and improve the health of employees of the emergency department.
The competition program included two free-style mass starts. The distance for women was 2,500 meters, for men - 5,000 meters. The total number of participants in cross-country skiing has exceeded 60 people.
The employees of the Ministry demonstrated a high level of ski training, excellent physical shape and will to win.

The strongest skiers who won the competition will become candidates for the sports teams of the EMERCOM of Russia to participate in the Sports Games among the Dynamo organizations of the federal executive authority of the Russian Federation in cross-country skiing. The Spartakiad will take place in March this year in Krasnogorsk near Moscow.
