A mini-football tournament dedicated to the memory of firefighters who died in the line of duty opens in St. Petersburg

On February 21, St. Petersburg hosted the opening of the qualifying games of the XXVII International Charity Mini-Football Tournament dedicated to the memory of firefighters who died in the line of duty.

18 teams take part in the qualifying matches, including foreign participants of the tournament - the team of the Republic of Belarus. The honorary right to open the competition was given to the Director of the Supervisory and Preventive Efforts Department of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, Rinat Yenikeyev.

The tournament will take place over two days. The list of finalists will be known today, but which of them will become the owner of the legendary sports cup will be known tomorrow.

As part of the program of events, a friendly match will also take place, in which the teams of the Central Office of the EMERCOM of Russia, the Government of St. Petersburg, the leadership of the EMERCOM Main Office for the St. Petersburg and the team of artists of St. Petersburg will take part.

For all guests of tomorrow's event, the organizers have prepared a variety of interactive areas for children and adults, who will also be able to get acquainted with the fire and rescue equipment exhibited in the area of ​​the Winter Stadium. As part of the theatrical opening ceremony of the tournament, various artists will perform, including participants in the Main Stage and Voice of the Children television projects, a Russian representative at Junior Eurovision 2020 and many others.

Last year, the winner of the tournament was the team of the Main Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in St. Petersburg.
