On June 21, on the eve of the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet Soldier. The event was attended by a delegation of the Central Council of Veterans of the EMERCOM of Russia, as well as veterans and personnel of the EMERCOM Main Office for the Tver Region.
“On the anniversary of the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, we honor the memory of hundreds of thousands of Soviet soldiers who died on the holy land of Rzhev. It is very exciting for us, the heirs of the great winners, to be here,” Shamsutdin Dagirov, Chairman of the Central Council of Veterans of the Ministry said.
The composite column solemnly marched to the place of laying flowers, where the personnel paid tribute to the memory of the Red Army soldiers who died during the war. Veteran EMERCOM of Russia Oleg Nepryakhin read the author's poem "Dedication to the Fallen Soldiers near Rzhev" and sang the song "Immortal Regiment" by Andrey Igolkin.
During the event, new special equipment was handed over to the local fire and rescue garrison: fire engines were received by fire and rescue unit No. 12, and a fire engine pump was received by a voluntary fire brigade.
Arsen Grigoryan, the head of the regional office of the Tver Region, handed over to Sh. Dagirov a miniature of the monument to Firefighters and Rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, installed on the fire square in Tver, to replenish the exposition of the Central Museum.
