In Zhukovsky near Moscow, within the framework of the XV International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021, a contract was signed between the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the Kazan Helicopter Plant. The signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Ministers of the EMERCOM of Russia Viktor Yatutsenko and Andrei Gurovich.
“To create a safe zone in the Arctic, helicopters with improved flight performance are needed, which can operate in extreme climatic conditions with an increased flight range, given the vastness of the Far North. These are the first 9 helicopters to be delivered to support Arctic rescue centers. The department's aviation will allow it to carry out tasks to ensure the safety of the Northern Sea Route as a whole, ” Deputy Minister Victor Yatsutsenko commented on the conclusion of the agreement.
According to the agreement, the plant plans to supply 9 Mi-38 PS helicopters to the Russian Emergencies Ministry within three years. They will be built in a search and rescue (SR) modification for flights in the Arctic zone, with the ability to board icebreakers. These helicopters will form the aviation units of the future Arctic complex emergency rescue center of the EMERCOM of Russia in the settlements of Sabetta, Dikson, Tiksi, Pevek and Anadyr.
The Mi-38PS will be able to provide high-range rescue missions. It is capable of flying with a crew and rescuers at a distance of up to 750 kilometers, evacuating people if necessary and returning to the place of deployment. For this, the helicopter will be equipped with additional fuel tanks, and the maximum take-off weight of the vehicle will be increased.
After the agreement was signed, Victor Yatutsenko and Andrey Gurovich got acquainted with the exhibition exposition of the salon, where, among other things, the industry's achievements in the field of rescue and fire extinguishing were presented.
Thus, a departmental amphibious aircraft Be-200ES is presented at the salon site. Today, according to experts, it is considered the most powerful firefighting seaplane in the world. It can take on board up to 12 tons of water, while the foreign analogue is only six. With the help of this aircraft, units of the Russian Emergencies Ministry can rescue people on the high seas and extinguish fires of any complexity.
A departmental Ka-32 A11BC helicopter is also on display. It is designed to carry out special search and rescue measures, firefighting, transportation of bulky cargo on an external sling, evacuation of sick and injured persons, as well as patrolling. The helicopter has over 40 options for firefighting equipment, including spillways, water cannons for horizontal and vertical firefighting.
You can get acquainted with the EMERCOM of Russia aircraft fleet before the closure of the XV International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021, which will take place on 25 July.
