Every week, about a hundred tourist groups are registered in the EMERCOM of Russia. It is necessary to notify rescuers about the trip 10 working days before starting the route by filling out a special form on the agency's website.

There are many popular tourist destinations in Russia. The beauty of nature and the diversity of the landscape attract travelers all year round.

So, every year a large number of tourists from all over the country and neighboring countries arrive in Karelia. The flow of travelers in the region practically does not end: more than 15 thousand people are registered annually. Snowmobile, ATV and dog sledding tours are popular in winter. Fishing takes a special place. There are more than 60 thousand lakes in Karelia alone, so at any time of the year you can meet fishermen on the water bodies of the Republic.

Tourists are attracted by the unique nature of Kamchatka. In the region there are about 300 dormant and 30 active volcanoes, as well as 2500 volcanic cones. The flow of travelers to the region does not decrease even with the onset of cold weather. As a rule, the most popular winter activities among residents and guests of the region are heli-skiing, climbing Mutnovsky, Gorely, Vilyuchinsky, Avachinsky, Zhupanovsky volcanoes, alpine skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling, trips to Khalaktyrsky beach. So last year the region was visited by about a thousand registered tourists.

Every year the Republic of Buryatia attracts fans of extreme sports by mountain climbing and skiing. Tunkinskaya valley, Munku-Sardyk peak, Mamai mountain, the coast of Lake Baikal are some of the most visited places by tourists. The main feature of tourist routes here is a great distance from settlements, difficult logistic conditions, as well as a rather harsh climate. In addition, avalanche danger persists in the mountains throughout the winter period.

It is worth noting that in 90 percent of cases, rescuers are sent in search of unregistered groups. Only in the Kamchatka Territory in the winter of last year, the help of the EMERCOM of Russia rescuers was required in 14 cases. At the same time, 10 incidents occurred with unregistered tourist groups. Since the beginning of this year, 1167 groups of tourist groups have been registered in the regional office of the EMERCOM of Russia, they include more than 14 thousand citizens, including 2.3 thousand children.

Rescuers are actively involved in preventive work with tourists: they explain to fans of extreme sports the rules of behavior in emergency situations and complications of the situation. In addition, separate classes are held with tour operators and guides specializing in heli-skiing: specialists teach how to work with avalanche equipment, share the secrets of their skills, and talk about safety rules.

The safety culture of tourists has been improving over the past few years. This is noticeable both in the number of registered travelers in the EMERCOM of Russia, and in the quality of preparation for the route. Communication is maintained with all registered groups at least 2 times a day, the nearest fire and rescue garrisons are always ready to help.

EMERCOM of Russia urges tourists to be sure to register before the trip. Rescuers advise on the conditions for a safe stay on a particular route and tell you how best to equip.

For help, you can contact the rescuers by phone "01" or by a single call number for all emergency services - "112". You can call it free of charge and around the clock from any mobile device: landline or satellite phone. Calling is possible from any point where there is coverage of cellular operators.
