On January 13, Acting Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Alexander Chupriyan, as part of a planned working trip to Sochi, held a meeting to sum up the results of the activities of the territorial subsystems of the Unified State System of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts for 2021. In particular, the issues of interaction between the authorities and the forces of the Unified State System of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations in the liquidation of emergency situations and road accidents, extinguishing man-made and forest fires, and the work of volunteers were considered.

So, last year in the Southern Federal District there were 39 emergencies and about 500 socially significant incidents. At the same time, a decrease in the number of man-made fires with the death of people was noted. There is positive dynamics of natural fires. In total, over 7.5 thousand people were rescued by units of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in 2021.

On the territory of the North Caucasian Federal District, the number of man-made fires also decreased. The divisions of the North Caucasian Regional Search and Rescue Team carried out over 1.5 thousand search and rescue operations. More than 4,000 people were rescued by the units of the EMERCOM of Russia.

During the meeting, issues of preparation for the spring flood, floods and the fire season were discussed. The issues of rendering humanitarian aid, the readiness of civil defense protective constructions, and coordinating the creation and maintenance of public warning systems in constant readiness were not left without attention.

So, together with the Don Rescue Center, 4 federal humanitarian convoys were sent for the population of Donetsk and Lugansk, humanitarian aid was delivered with a total weight of more than 700 tons of cargo.

Summing up the results of the meeting, Acting Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Alexander Chupriyan noted that in the whole country all indicators have a positive trend. And this is the merit of the personnel of the EMERCOM Main Offices of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts. He thanked all the leaders present at the meeting for the work done and outlined the priority areas for the activities of the Unified State System of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations in the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts for 2022.

“I want to express my gratitude to all those present, to note the effective actions of the authorities and forces of the territorial subsystems of the RSChS districts, which made it possible to eliminate the consequences of emergencies and fires in the shortest possible time, minimize losses from them and provide assistance to every person in trouble. I urge everyone to continue to work hard in a single vein for the qualitative fulfillment of all the tasks facing us,” summed up Alexander Chupriyan.

After a meeting in a solemn atmosphere, Acting Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Alexander Chupriyan awarded the most distinguished employees with medals "For Courage in a Fire" and "For Rescuing the Dead", and also presented valuable gifts and award watches. In addition, the winners of the festival were awarded with diplomas of winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Festival "Constellation of Courage" for 2021.

Also, as part of the working trip, Alexander Chupriyan checked the readiness of the forces and means of Unified State System of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and the Sochi Fire and Rescue Garrison during the fire-tactical trainings at the Adler TPP.

According to the legend of the exercises, an outbreak occurred at the facility of the fuel and energy complex when filling the tank, as a result of which diesel fuel caught fire, there was a threat of the fire spreading to the neighboring tank. More than 100 people and 22 units of equipment were involved in the trainings.

As part of the exercise, the issues of interaction between the management bodies of the Unified State System of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations, methods and methods for eliminating the conditional ignition of fuel tanks using modern technologies, actions to evacuate people from the danger zone, provide assistance to victims, priority actions of facility workers in the event of a fire were worked out.

“All offices worked well-coordinated and organized. Such practical skills that we get during the exercises allow us to perform all combat missions, respond in a timely manner and eliminate the consequences of emergency situations, provide assistance and support to all people who find themselves in a difficult situation,” Alexander Chupriyan said.
