On May 16, the Acting Minister of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Chupriyan held a weekly conference call. During the meeting, it was noted that currently there are 105 hotbeds of natural fires. More than 5.9 thousand people, 1,160 units of equipment and 28 aircraft were involved in their liquidation. The situation has stabilized in the Khabarovsk Territory, Amur, Kurgan and Sverdlovsk regions. An increase in the number of outbreaks due to a serious wind load was noted in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia.
The number of flooded areas in settlements is increasing. To date, 82 household plots, 4 low-water bridges and 9 sections of roads remain flooded. In general, the flood situation is stable, developing in accordance with the forecast.
17.5 thousand man-made fires were registered last week, 690 of them were eliminated with the involvement of voluntary firefighters.
When responding to more than 1.4 thousand accidents, 470 people were rescued. 205 people – during rescue and search operations. 24 people – on water objects. The Ministry's pyrotechnicians discovered and transported more than 4.8 thousand dangerous items to the place of destruction.
Severe and adverse weather phenomena have caused power outages in more than 500 settlements, damage to the roofs of 100 residential buildings and falling trees. At the moment, the work on cleaning trees and restoring power supply has been completed, restoration work on the roofs continues.
The Ministry controls 267 registered tourist groups with a total number of more than 4 thousand people.
