In the Krasnodar Territory, 17 interdepartmental monitoring groups surveyed 220 km (including repeated surveys) of the coastline; during the day, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Emergencies Ministry was used to monitor the water area and the coastline. In the Kerch Strait, 1,086.3 sq. km were surveyed and about 36 sq. km of water area were cleared. Six main areas for oil product collection with a total length of 63 km were identified. In Anapa and Temryuk District, employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, representatives of municipalities and volunteers collected and removed more than 102.7 thousand tons of contaminated sand and soil from the coastline (more than 7.1 thousand tons per day). A temporary accumulation site for contaminated soil is operating around the clock. More than 5.6 thousand birds were washed and rescued in animal assistance centers. In order to increase the forces and resources of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, airmobile groups of the Don Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the EMERCOM Main Office for the Rostov Region arrived in the emergency zone in the amount of 103 people and 17 units of equipment. The arrival of groups of the Volga and Ural Rescue Centers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry is expected, consisting of 200 people and 40 units of equipment.
During the work in the Republic of Crimea, 2,753 km of coastline were surveyed, 34 cases of detection of oil products were identified, about 249 tons of contaminated sand and soil were collected and removed. Now, 73 monitoring groups have been organized. Over the past 24 hours, 384 km of coastline from the urban district of Kerch to the settlement of Zaozernoe in the Yevpatoria city district were surveyed. No new cases of detection of oil products were identified. Today, work continues on the site in the Leninsky District on the territory of the Opuksky State Nature Reserve in the village. Yakovenkovo, where minor pollution of a sandy area of 3 km was previously detected.
In the city of Sevastopol, 7 interdepartmental monitoring groups examined 27 km (6 km per day) of the coastline from the settlement of Laspi to the settlement of Andreyevka, 8 main work areas were identified, 84.54 tons of contaminated sand and soil were collected and removed (68.24 tons were collected per day), work continues to collect oil products in 2 areas of 500 m. Also, 14 birds affected by oil pollution were found. They were sent to the state veterinary center for cleaning of plumage and rehabilitation.
