In addition to scientists at specialized institutes of the EMERCOM of Russia, there are craftsmen on the ground who are engaged in design activities and make unique devices for their comrades. This is a monitor barrel made from parts of old decommissioned fire fighting equipment of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
This is the fourth copy, made on the initiative and drawings of garrison employees from parts of a stationary monitor. The first three successfully resist the fire element in the Region's PSCh.
The idea was developed by the deputy head of the 2nd fire and rescue squad, Petr Uzgorsky. At the turn of the century, an idea arose to create a universal portable fire monitor, similar to the “Baby”, which was successfully used to extinguish fires inside attics, but with the ability to be installed on any type of ladder truck. With the resulting 20-kilogram unit, standard fire trucks for the EMERCOM of Russia can be converted in less than 10 minutes. The design is mobile and can dispense up to 30 liters of liquid per second. The firefighter independently controls the barrel, controls the extinguishing zone and determines the direction, strength and formation of the stream of fire extinguishing agents to achieve maximum results.
The new monitor barrel was made specifically for the ATsL-3.0-40/4-24, a tank truck with a ladder truck that recently arrived in the remote residential district of Noyabrsk - Vyngapurovsky. The appearance of this vehicle created the conditions for the introduction of the barrel and made it possible to significantly strengthen the combat capabilities of the local unit. The microdistrict is located 100 kilometers from the city, has predominantly low-rise wooden buildings and a small fire station. When a fire is detected late and there is strong wind, prompt localization of the fire becomes a critical task to prevent the spread of fire and save residential buildings.
The development has already received a positive assessment from personnel.
