On the first day of work in the Republic of Serbia, the Russian Emergencies Ministry Il-76 aircraft performed 5 sorties and 10 water drops. A total of 210 tons of water were dropped on the fires.
According to space monitoring data from the EMERCOM of Russia, 22 thermal hotspots were registered in the republic, and fires were identified in the immediate vicinity of populated areas. Currently, the fire is spreading along the borders of the villages of Shushara, Grebenats and Kaytasovo. Local residents are being evacuated.
The actions of Russian rescuers are carried out in close coordination with the ground services of the Republic of Serbia with the organizational support of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center. The operational group of the EMERCOM of Russia continues to work in Serbia, ensuring interaction with Serbian colleagues and implementing a set of measures to localize and eliminate fires. Experts are doing everything possible to prevent the fire from spreading to residential buildings and minimizing the threat to civilians.
