Deputy Minister of the EMERCOM of Russia Roman Kurynin congratulated the team of the FMBC named after A.I. Burnazyan FMBA of Russia on its 80th anniversary

In a solemn ceremony, on behalf of the Minister of Emergencies Ministry Alexander Kurenkov and on his own behalf, Roman Kurynin congratulated the staff and veterans of the Federal Medical Biophysical Center named after A.I. Burnazyan on the 80th anniversary of its founding.

“For the EMERCOM of Russia, the Center is a reliable partner in solving the most important tasks to protect the life and health of citizens. Together we are developing new technologies for medical evacuation, preparing medical personnel to work in emergency situations and providing medical support for rescuers in the most difficult conditions. Your unique experience, high professionalism and dedication deserve the deepest respect,” emphasized Roman Kurynin.

History of the FMBC named after A.I. Burnazyan began on June 29, 1946, when a radiation laboratory was created in the system of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR - the country's first scientific institution, where they systematically began to develop the fundamentals of radiobiology, radiation medicine and radiation protection. Over eight decades, the Center has evolved from a small scientific group to one of the world's leading centers, where basic science is inextricably linked with clinical practice. Today FMBC named after A.I. Burnazyan is the flagship of domestic healthcare, combining advanced areas of medicine and biology.

The center is rightfully a pioneer in the field of bone marrow transplantation and many other breakthrough areas. FMBC scientists and doctors have made an invaluable contribution to ensuring radiation safety of nuclear industry workers, protecting personnel of the nuclear submarine fleet and specialists working in conditions of special professional risks. It was here that a unified health care system was formed, which today continues to develop in the interests of state security.

Special words of gratitude were addressed to the Center’s veterans, who stood at the origins of its creation and laid down the glorious traditions of serving science and medicine. Their work, wisdom and dedication are an invaluable example for the younger generation of specialists.

In conclusion, Roman Kurynin once again congratulated the staff, management and veterans of the Center and wished them good health, prosperity, inexhaustible energy and new bright achievements for the benefit of the Fatherland:

“Let your professionalism continue to serve as a reliable support in saving human lives!” - the deputy head of the EMERCOM of Russia addressed the audience.
