On the parade ground of the Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia a solemn ceremony was held for the swearing in of cadets and the Oath of first-year students. 350 young people, in the presence of guests, veterans and parents, uttered cherished words that will become an unshakable rule and guideline for them on their professional path.
On behalf of the head of the Emergencies Ministry, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of the EMERCOM of Russia Denis Popov admonished the children:
“For the EMERCOM of Russia, high-quality training of specialists who are capable of making correct, thoughtful and responsible decisions in various emergency situations is very important. Good luck with your studies. Let every new day bring interesting discoveries, and let any difficulties become part of a unique path, because they will help you truly appreciate victories.”
The head of the academy, Ivan Sergeev, addressed the first-year students:
“This is not just a formal ritual and not a tribute to tradition, but the most important milestone in the life of everyone who consciously chose the path of serving the Fatherland and protecting people. Remember: this is not only a high honor, but also a colossal responsibility. From now on, your life will be inextricably linked with the safety of people, with the readiness to help in difficult times.”
The official part of the ceremony ended with the awarding of university personnel.
The holiday was decorated with demonstration performances: academy athletes demonstrated their mastery in the “combat deployment” discipline. Guests were able to enjoy the well-coordinated work of a platoon of drummers and the polished drill techniques of a company of honor guard, as well as the performances of the university’s creative teams.
A special gift for the cadets was an event organized by specialists and veterans of the department: they prepared letters with parting words and wishes. Each such message is not just words of support, but the transfer of invaluable experience, wisdom and faith to the younger generation.
Ahead are years of hard study, strong friendships, new ups and downs in a heroic profession.
