From 1 to 8 May, the Sevastopol fireworks of the Russian Emergencies Ministry discovered 145 explosive objects. These include 22 artillery shells, 56 mortar mines, 22 grenades, two aerial bombs weighing 50 kilograms each.
In connection with the prolonged May holidays and an increase in the number of landscape fires due to non-compliance with fire safety rules, in particular, making fires and counter fires of dry grass, additional measures were introduced in the Novosibirsk Region to protect settlements and summer cottages, as well as to suppress violations of the law in the period of special fire-fighting mode.
On the eve of Victory Day, opera singer, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, acting member of the Public Council under the EMERCOM of Russia, Vasily Gerello, together with the combined orchestra of EMERCOM Main Office for St. Petersburg Russia and the St. Petersburg University of the State Fire Service, performed one of the most famous songs of the war years "Dark Night". It was written by composer Nikita Bogoslovsky and poet Vladimir Agatov in 1943 especially for the film Two Soldiers.
On May 7, a solemn event timed to coincide with Victory Day was held at the Institute for Civil Defence and Emergencies of the EMERCOM of Russia. The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry and employees of the Central Office.
