The operational forecast of possible emergency situations for December 24, 2020 on the territory of the Russian Federation is determined by the passage of 3 cyclones, 2 anticyclones and the atmospheric fronts.

The emergencies including the disruption of life support services, energy facilities, communications, housing and communal services, and all modes of transport, flooding of low-lying areas are forecast: 

in the Siberian Federal District on the territory of the Altai Territory (snow, heavy snow in some areas, blizzard, wind gusts up to 27 m/s, snow drifts on the roads, black ice in some areas);

in the North Caucasian Federal District, in the Republic of Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Chechen Republic, Stavropol Territory (very heavy snow, adhesion of wet snow).

Due to the impact of unfavorable meteorological phenomena, the likelihood of incidents related to the disruption of the life support systems of the population, with ruptures of communication lines and power transmissions, obstruction of traffic is predicted:

in the Siberian Federal District, in the Republic of Khakassia (heavy snow in some areas, wind gusts up to 24 m/s, black ice on the roads);

in the Northwestern Federal District, in the Republic of Karelia (heavy snow in some areas, adhesion of wet snow);

in the North Caucasian Federal District, in the Republic of Dagestan, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania (heavy precipitation, snow, sleet);

in the Southern Federal District, in the Republic of Adygea (adhesion of wet snow on wires and trees) and the Republic of Kalmykia (ice and hoarfrost on wires).

The landslides, landslisps, subsidence of soil in the mountainous and foothill areas are forecast in the North Caucasian Federal and Southern Federal districts.

There is an avalanche danger in the mountainous regions in the Siberian Federal District (the Republic of Khakassia, the Republic of Tyva and the Krasnoyarsk Territory); in the Southern Federal District (the Republic of Adygea, the Krasnodar Territory); in the North Caucasian Federal District (the Karachay-Cherkess Republic).
