Experts measure the background radiation in the Far East every hour.

237 control posts continue monitoring of radiation environment in the Far Eastern federal district, including intensified monitoring every 1-3 hours.

Centers for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring have organized a permanent monitoring of radiation environment in the district.

4 helicopters: 3 - from Air Rescue Center of Far East Regional Center (in Khabarovsk, Kamchatka and Sakhalin region region) and 1 - from the Ministry of Defence (Primorsky Territory) are involved in radiation survey.

The level of background radiation is measured by the ships of the Coast Guard which are now in the sea. The natural level and the radiation environment are within normal.

According to the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, west wind will remain steady at altitudes of up to 5 km in the next 2 - 5 days, therefore the air masses will be moving eastward into the Pacific Ocean.

Ongoing public awareness through the media about the results of monitoring, the condition of the radiation environment, the measures taken to reduce risks to the public is continued in the subjects of the region.
