Prompt selector conference took place in EMERCOM of Russia

Selector conference conducted by the First Deputy Head EMERCOM of Russia Ruslan Tsalikov took place in EMERCOM of Russia, during which the operational situation on the territory of the Russian Federation was discussed as well as the situation with fires and at the water bodies.

The Head of the National Crisis Management Center Vladimir Stepanov outlined that 7 emergencies, 4 360 fires, 104 accidents on water bodies had occurred on the territory of the Russian Federation last week where 2 414 people were saved and 358 perished.

Since the beginning of the year, 100 emergencies have been registered where 1 456 people were injured and 294 people perished. Compared to the similar period last year (175) the number of emergencies decreased by 42.0%.

The flood situation on the territory of the Russian Federation is developing according to the forecast. It is over in the Southern, Central, Volga, North Western Federal Districts and is continuing in the Ural, Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts.

During the week, 6 settlements with the population 700 people in 168 houses were submerged in the Altai and Krasnoyarsk Territories, the Irkutsk, Sverdlovsk and Tomsk Regions. 58 emergency groups were working in order to cope with the spring floods and prevent emergencies.

There are no submerged areas on the territory of the Russian Federation now.

On the territory of the Ural Federal District of the Sverdlovsk Region 7 low bridges were submerged as well as 7 countryside pieces of land. Life-supporting systems of the population were not broken.

At present, the work on conducting preventative measures aimed at safe flood discharge continues.

194 ice-explosions were conducted during the week.

In total, since the beginning of flood preventative activities 1922 ice explosions were made, 151072.45 kg of explosives were used, 358.21 km of ice were sawed, 44.8 square km of ice were blackened. These activities are following the plan 100%.

In-time flood preventative measures allowed to reduce the level of floods in flood-dangerous areas as well as to minimize the flood consequences.

At present, the monitoring of the flood development situation at the Lena River is conducted with the use of space monitoring technologies. The calculations of forces and facilities were made in order to react efficiently to any negative changes of the flood situation.

During the week there were 2 382 natural fire areas on the territory of 20 thousand ha of the Russian Federation. In total, 7 825 areas of natural fires (compared to the similar period last year—11 663 fire areas—there is a 1.5 times decrease) occurred on 124 308.6 ha of territories (compared to similar period last year—543770.1ha—there is a 4.3 times decrease) of the Russian Federation. There are 88 natural fire areas at present (on the total 3 265 ha of territories).

For the past week fire-rescue groups had been engaged in the elimination of 2 081 road accidents, where 1 598 people had been saved. Since the beginning of the year, 21 448 people were saved in the elimination of 28 974 road accidents.

10 seismic events with magnitude 3 and higher occurred on the territory of the Russian Federation, 200 seismic events—since the beginning of the year, not jolts were felt in settlements.

The specialists EMERCOM of Russia found and destroyed 741 explosive objects including 4 air bombs during the past week, 4 901 explosive objects and 54 air bombs have been found and destroyed since the beginning of the year.

During the 4 months of the current year 58 004 fires had occurred on the territory of the Russian Federation (-9.1%). 5 315 people perished (-6.8%). 4 936 people were injured (+4.0%).

The State Firefighting Services saved 31 918 people and 12.7 billion rubles. They made more than 90 000 trips to fire emergency sites.

There is a reduction in the number of people’s deaths in fires on the territories of all the federal districts.
