EMERCOM of Russia and the Federation of Modern Pentathlon of Russia (FMPR) are going to develop the fire-applied and rescue sport in Russia. This is confirmed by an Agreement which has been signed today by the Head EMERCOM of Russia Sergey Shoigu and the president of the Federation of Modern Pentathlon of Russia Vyacheslav Aminov.
Cooperation of EMERCOM of Russia and the Federation of Modern Pentathlon of Russia will not only help the development of modern pentathlon, but also be prophylactics of negative tendencies among the youth. EMERCOM of Russia and the Federation of Modern Pentathlon of Russia will conduct sports events for the teenagers; raise the image of Russian pentathlon, rescue multiathlon, fire-applied and rescue sport at the international arena, as well as develop sportsmen preparation programs for the international and All-Russian competitions.
The Ministry and the FMPR are already working out the programs and projects aimed at the development of modern rescue multiathlon, fire-applied and rescue sport they said at the Ministry. They also spoke about the festivals, contests and competitions.
The Federation can use the sports facilities EMERCOM of Russia while conducting trainings and competitions on modern pentathlon which are included into the Single schedule of trans-regional, All-Russian and International sports events.
EMERCOM of Russia pays special attention to the sports training of rescuers and firefighters.
Last September, the joint team EMERCOM of Russia won the Fifth World Championship of rescuers and firefighters in Ufa and received 22 sets of golden medals out of 24. EMERCOM of Russia joint team is going to participate in the Universiade in Kazan in 2013 where the fire applied sport will be presented for the first time.
The fire applied championship includes different kinds of exercises to overcome the obstacles, fire ladders assaults and the ability to use fire equipment. The fire applied sport appeared in the USSR in 1937. Soon, it spread all around Europe, and nowadays the championships are held at national and international levels.
