The past week was characterized by a difficult situation related to wildfires in the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, as well as in the Voronezh and Rostov Regions. To date, 2 active forest fires in the LPR have been localized. In general, the number of forest fires and areas continues to decrease.
Last week, fire and rescue units were involved in eliminating more than 10.5 thousand fires, in which 450 people were rescued, more than 5.6 thousand people were evacuated. Unfortunately, 89 people died. The number of fires, compared to the same period last year, increased by 66%, the death toll decreased by 13%.
Rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry responded to more than 2.1 thousand accidents, in which 389 people were saved.
During the reporting period, 58 accidents occurred on water bodies, 47 people died and 12 were saved. Compared to the same period last year, the number of accidents decreased by 5%, and the number of fatalities by 8%.
678 groups with a total of over 4.5 thousand people were registered on tourist routes.
