The Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, Alexander Kurenkov, took part in the work of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum

On October 9, the Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Kurenkov discussed industry security issues in the Northern capital as part of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

Its business program includes over 100 events with the participation of 800 speakers. The St. Petersburg International Gas Forum annually brings together international experts, top managers of oil and gas companies, representatives of federal and regional authorities, specialized associations and research centers. For representatives of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the event provides an opportunity for a constructive dialogue with experts in the gas industry.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry signed an agreement with the Public Joint Stock Company Gazprom. The document was signed on behalf of the corporation by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board - Head of Department Vitaly Markelov.

Thus, the parties expressed mutual interest in partnership on a stable and long-term basis. In particular, it is planned to develop scientific and methodological support in the field of promoting safety measures among the population. Safety issues will receive scientific and technical support. For this purpose, joint seminars, consultations, conferences and a number of other events will be organized.

"We will plan joint work annually. At the same time, it is necessary to take as a basis events that can increase the efficiency in developing a safety culture. I hope that continuous interaction will have a fruitful effect on the protection of our citizens," noted the Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Kurenkov.

The large-scale event of the gas industry will end on October 11.
