The Russian Emergencies Ministry participates in the events of the International Forum on Shipbuilding and Arctic Development

As part of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, representatives of the Russian Emergencies Ministry are taking part in conference events of the 6th International Forum on Shipbuilding and Development of High-Tech Equipment for the Development of the Arctic and Shelf — "OMR 2024".

At the session "Strategic goals and objectives of shipbuilding and technical and technological support for the development of hydrocarbon resources in the Arctic zone and the continental shelf of the Russian Federation", participants discussed the role of the Emergencies Ministry in ensuring the security of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and the Northern Sea Route.

The development of a comprehensive security system in the Arctic is a joint effort of executive authorities at all levels and interested business entities of the real sector of the economy.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry is preparing to conduct exercises and an expedition in 2025. The exercises are planned during the "polar night" in the Arctic with practical training of 18 inputs in 10 regions of the Russian Arctic on the most probable scenarios of emergency situations for each subject of the Russian Federation.

In addition to practical events on the topic of safety in the Russian Arctic, the Russian Emergencies Ministry annually successfully conducts RnD work to develop modern methods for preventing and eliminating natural and man-made emergencies in the Arctic zone within the scientific and technical activities.

This was confirmed by the awarding of participants in the competition of scientific, scientific, technical and innovative developments aimed at the development and exploration of the Arctic during the conference. The third-degree laureate diploma was awarded to the team of authors of the Civil Defense Academy of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the project "Predictive model for assessing the impact of climatic factors on buildings and constructions of hazardous industrial facilities located in the permafrost zone."
